Government-Regulated AYUSH Medical Stores are Coming!

In a landmark move for the traditional Indian medicine sector, the Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav, has announced that India will soon launch its first ever government regulated AYUSH medical stores.

For followers of Brijwasi Ayurveda, this marks a significant shift toward making authentic Ayurvedic medicines accessible and affordable for everyone.

Affordability Meets Authenticity

The primary goal of these dedicated AYUSH centers is to ensure that patients can purchase high quality treatments at regulated rates. Minister Jadhav highlighted that since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a massive surge in public interest toward Ayurveda and other traditional systems. However, this popularity has also led to challenges, such as the emergence of substandard or counterfeit products and high price points from private suppliers.

Expanding the AYUSH Infrastructure

The government's vision goes beyond just retail stores. Plans are currently underway to:

Launch "Aaple Sarkar AYUSH Hospitals" to improve public access to certified traditional treatments.
• Establish an Ayurveda focused institution in Maharashtra modeled after the prestigious AIIMS.
Expand existing facilities, such as the recently inaugurated Ayurvedic Unit at the CGHS Wellness Centre in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Ayurveda on the Global Stage: Trade and Recognition
The demand for Ayurveda is no longer confined to India. During a recent international conference, India’s rich heritage in traditional medicine received a highly positive response from various nations.
To facilitate global trade deals and academic exchange, AYUSH Chairs have already been established in 15 countries to promote these systems worldwide.
This global expansion signals a bright future for international trade agreements involving herbal products and traditional health practices, positioning India as a global leader in holistic wellness.
Why This Matters for You
As many newly qualified practitioners rely on external suppliers rather than manufacturing their own remedies, these regulated stores will provide a reliable backbone for the industry.
For the community at Brijwasi Ayurveda, this means more transparency, better affordability, and a stronger guarantee that the Ayurvedic heritage we cherish is protected by official standards.
